EmailThe Rev. Andrea Allen Baker
Rev. Andrea grew up mostly in the northern Virginia area. She graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point, New York in 1984 and served as an Army communications officer in Hawaii, South Korea and the Pentagon from 1984-1991. She received a Master of Arts degree in English from the University of Hawaii in 1996 and later worked as Admissions Director and Upper School Director at The Community School in Sun Valley, Idaho from 2001-2006. She answered a long-felt call to the priesthood after her family relocated to Sacramento in 2006. She was ordained in 2010 after receiving a Master of Divinity degree from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley. She served in our companion diocese as Superintendent of Episcopal Bilingual Schools of Honduras during the 2010-2011 academic year. She feels deeply blessed to have been called as interim rector during this important year of transition in the life of Epiphany Church. She also recently returned to the military as a chaplain in the Army Reserve and she continues to assist in recruiting teachers for the Episcopal Bilingual Schools of Honduras as North American Liaison. Andrea and her husband Brian, a West Point grad and long-time priest, met in high school and have been married for 28 years. They have two children, Laura, age 19 and Mark, age 15.
